Google Logo on 8-8-8 (August 8, 2008)

Google logo on the Google home page changed today for this is the first day of the 2008 summer olympics which is held in Beijing, China. For you who don’t know what the creatures on the logo are, they are the five “Fuwa” or “The Good Luck Dools” which the design are based on fish, giant panda, fire, Tibetan antelope, and swallow. I assume there will be more logo variation depending on the sports to be contested.

Here are the larger image of those Five Fuwa; Beibei the fish, Jingjing the panda, Huanhuan the olympic flame, Yingying the tibetan anthelope, and Nini the swallow. Acording to the official website of the 2008 olympics, if the names are put together it makes the centence “Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni” which mean “Welcome to Beijing”
