Forum Software From WordPress Team

Well now, if you are a WordPress user and you are finding a way to add forum software to your website, I think this information will be useful for you. Have you ever heard about bbPress? Well, I’ve just found this thing while searching the way how to blend or integrate forum software to a WordPress site. This bbPress is developed by the same team as the team that is developing the WordPress. They have made their forum software to be able to be blend with a WordPress website easily.

Ok now, I have tested this software with some help from the XAMPP software. At the beginning, I was very excited about this software knowing that WordPress is awesome and I was hoping their forum software would be awesome as well. But then I’m a little confused because the installer size was only around 290 kilo bytes!!! I installed this and I would say that I’m very disappointed, unexplainable disappointment I think. Could it be because I’ve tried phpBB before? That has bunch of features (compared by the admin dashboard)? Even though both are free wares? Well, even though so, I believe that they would develop their forum software to be as good as their WordPress software. They even haven’t released the first version of it; the last one is version 0.8.3.1.

What I love from this software is the themes files are using php, html and css like WordPress do. I love this so much because there is a possibility that I could blend the forum with my site trough the themes my self. Well, you know phpBB uses a file type that which I have never seen before so I can’t modify the theme my self.

I hope this software will be much more developed when they release their first version of it. Good luck WordPress team…
